Watch Out While Having Fun

As the summer heats up, snakes are more on the move trying to find water and a cool place to call home.
Steve Pilgrim (above) killed this rattlesnake Wednesday (July 2, 2014) near his driveway on Big Texas Valley Road. The snake was a little over 3 foot long and had 7 rattles and a button on it.

Always be cautious when out, especially in an area you are unfamiliar with. Rattlesnakes will let you know they are nearby by rattling their tail. Copperhead snakes, however, don’t make a sound until it’s too late and you’ve already been bitten.

Be safe this summer and watch where you’re walking at all times.
